Our second album "Newry Town" was released tonight at the Friday Night Concert Series in downtown Iowa City. It will soon be available online and locally. We are taking a maternity hiatus until September- see you soon!

We're heading back into the studio in January. We are very excited to be recording at the Dr. Caw studio. Look for us performing in Chicago, eastern Iowa and on the radio waves this spring.

The Beggarbaby has arrived! Joe and Tara's son Liam was born today at 3:30 am. He was 8 lbs, 6.5 oz and 21 inches long and both baby and mama are doing fine.

Don't miss the 35th annual Fiddlers Picnic coming up on Sunday, September 18 from noon to 6 pm at the Johnson County Fairgrounds! There will be performances throughout the day by area bands as well as workshops in fiddle, guitar, banjo, mandolin, and Celtic harp beginning at 2 pm.

Thanks to the wonderful work of Joe Meidlinger and company at CD Technical, our CDs are now available! We will be selling them at all our shows as well as locally in selected stores and online at CDbaby.com. We will soon provide a list of stores and a link to our cyber store at CDbaby.com. Tara, Jose, and Dan will be playing a short unplugged set in honor of Bill Sackter day at Uptown Bill's small Mall on Saturday April 16th at 2 pm. We highly recommend that you stick around for the 3 pm set featuring 50% of Stones in the Field: Guy Drollinger and Keith Reins. It's the week of the fractional Irish bands- we will be missing Brad and Joe on Saturday. See Beggargigs for more details.

Our April 1st benefit concert for United Action for Youth was a great success. We are so happy to have been involved in an effort that raised close to $800 for such a wonderful community organization.

Watch for the Beggarmen's March 16th children's performance on the Iowa City public access television channel. That was a rip roaring fun show, complete with tiny Michael Flatleys.
In other news, the Beggarmen were chosen to take part in the Iowa City Friday Night Music Series. Our date is July 22nd. Don't miss it!
